About the career program
The one-year career-oriented continuing education program as part of the "Potenziale - Women at University" cooperation between the University of Graz, Graz University of Technology, Medical University of Graz and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz contributes to the promotion of university equality and the advancement of women's academic careers at the universities in Graz.
The program is a contribution to the establishment of a gender-balanced culture at universities. The program is sponsored by the Rector of the University of Graz, Dr. Peter Riedler. The concept was developed by Dr. Barbara Hey, MBA and Ilse Wieser, Coordination Centre for Gender Studies and Equal Opportunities at the University of Graz, together with experts and is funded by the University of Graz, Graz University of Technology, Medical University of Graz and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.

PhD students - including artistic dissertations and female post-docs from all faculties of the University of Graz, Graz University of Technology, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and Medical University of Graz (including female doctors in training to become medical specialists). Also for female scientists on career breaks and female scientists without project funding.
one calendar year - from January to December
is 150 hours per participant, 6 ECTS points
The program begins with a kick-off in December of the previous year and ends with the awarding of the certificate in December of the training year
- Kick-off: 2 hours
- Eight seminars: half to three days, 120 hours
- Group coaching: on two seminar topics, 7 hours per participant
- Individual coaching: 2 individual hours per participant
- Expert discussions, e.g. as part of the seminars, 3 hours
- Job application training workshop: 8 hours
- Two workshops on peer counseling: 4 hours each
- Positioning and developing of professional priorities
- Strategic approaches to career planning
- Academic organization-related skills for everyday professional life
- Insight into the (informal) structures of universities
- Networking
