Target group: female* scientists of the four universities in Graz
Time: Wednesday, 19 March 2025, 12:00 - 16:30
Venue: University of Graz, Festsaal des Meerscheinschlössls, Mozartgasse 3, ground floor
Career paths in academia can take many forms, depending on disciplines, institutional structures, individual choice and circumstances. A key factor for success, however, is having a diversified network. Due to different barriers to career opportunities, it is even more important to female* scientists to actively and continuously engage in networking. However, networking is sometimes considered ambivalent and time consuming – especially by women*.
In this event, we offer evidence-based knowledge about networking and we have an interactive look at questions around networking among women* in academia. In order to walk the talk, a forum for actual networking for women in academia of the four universities in Graz about certain topics takes place, too. Topics will be inter-university / interdisciplinary research, gender aspects in research projects, gender-fair conference and event organization, compatibility of career and care work, etc. The aim of this event is, that you as a women* in academia further develop your social and professional networks in size, diversity and cohesiveness for your own and other women*’s happiness, empowerment and success.
Please Note: We kindly request full participation from the beginning.
16:00: Closing remarks by Vice-Rector Mireille van Poppel (Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Equal Opportunities)
