This year, the Austrian network of university gender equity departments (Genderplattform) is hosting an online event as part of our contribution to the Orange the World campaign to combat violence against women. The event will consist of an online talk by Bontu Guschke (she/her) entitled "Who Gets to Feel Safe? Who Gets to Speak Up? Understanding and Addressing the Intersections of Sexism and Racism in Higher Education." The talk will be followed by a Q&A that will be moderated by Josephine Apraku (no pronouns; use name). Questions can be submitted during the event using Zoom's Q&A functionality. The event will be held in English with live transcription to ensure accessibility for deaf or hard-of-hearing participants. During the event, Matthäa Ritter-Wurnig (she/her) will act as an awareness and support person.
