About the Program
The Equal Opportunity Mentoring-Program (EOMP) is designed to promote the careers of women and individuals who face barriers to equitable career opportunities at the University of Graz who are enrolled in doctoral programs. The program seeks to foster equity and diversity by through mentoring relationships that support the professional and personal development of participants. The overarching goal is to strengthen the career prospects of mentees at the University of Graz while equipping mentors with the skills to guide and support them effectively. In doing so, it furthers the university’s goal of advancing gender equality and diversity in academia. To this end, the program enables dedicated and experienced researchers at the University of Graz to support women and other individuals who face barriers to equitable career opportunities in their career development by sharing their knowledge and understanding of the rules of the university and helping them to build their own networks. Moreover, the program also expands the networks of the mentors and enable them to develop new skills through their involvement as mentors, but also by facilitating a peer-mentoring environment among the mentors in the program.

Criteria for Selection:
Alignment with the program goal of furthering equitable career opportunities, particularly for women and individuals who face barriers to equitable career opportunities at the University of Graz. Clear indication as to how the applicant will profit from the program and how their participation aligns with the program goal of promoting equity and diversity at the University of Graz.
